Turquoise – As a gem, it’s one of the oldest that is known. It’s seen as a talisman and is particularly important to many cultures, especially the Native People of the Southwestern United States. As a child, I traveled to New Mexico and remember seeing the stone everywhere. It gave me a sense of calm and really spoke to the collective feeling that people have for it
