Why the health industry
I chose the health industry because I want to help promote health and well-being among vulnerable populations. I love the fact that I can work on projects that will improve the lives of potentially millions of patients around the world.
Best early career advice received
Never discount the importance of networking – you never know what opportunities can come up from relationships you’ve built along the way.
Professional passion
I'm particularly passionate about equitable access and anything related to women's health. Beyond working in the life sciences, I've also worked in the anti-human trafficking and reproductive justice spaces, and I always try to keep the patient at the core of my project work.
Favorite healthy activities
I love to hike and backpack here in my home state of Colorado! When I'm not working, you can probably catch me in the mountains any time of year.
My Vynamic color
Turquoise Sea – This color reminds me of the ocean. To me, it represents being fluid, accommodating change, and that there is always the chance to find more below the surface.
Favorite travel destination
Rio de Janeiro, Cusco, Medellin, and anywhere in Patagonia
My pet(s)
We have three pets that keep us busy! A golden retriever named Bilbo Waggins and two cats named Mr. Whiskers and Mosey.
Favorite book(s)
I love to read and try to read 40 books a year. I particularly love novels and historical fiction. My favorites are pretty much anything by Jodi Picoult or Colleen Hoover and books written about the World War II era.
