The challenge
A multi-therapeutic area biotech company aimed to launch its first digital patient journey platform for HCPs. The 3-year roadmap included contracting design and implementation vendors to deliver both healthcare provider and patient visibility into the therapy onboarding process, patient status, and key resources. This new platform also enabled collaboration between providers, patients, and caregivers.
Our approach
1. Governed multi-vendor, cross-functional program
Partnered with multiple franchises and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate and select vendors, develop and track against a complex program plan, identify and manage risks and dependencies, and escalate issues to client leadership. Managed vendors to enforce timelines and ensure client feedback was infused into key deliverables.
2. Developed customer adoption plan
Partnered with marketing and field leads to develop pre- and post-launch customer rollout and engagement strategy. Collaborative healthcare organizations were selected and engaged as part of the pilot program to provide feedback used to inform initial platform design and roadmap.
3. Managed future platform roadmap
Organized strategy engagement working sessions to align on program direction in the long-term, as well as supported socialization with extended stakeholders. Organizational objectives, coupled with customer feedback on enhancements informed the multi-year roadmap, including 100+ planned enhancements.
4. Prepared for launch
Coordinated critical pre-launch activities, including user acceptance testing execution, data validation, training, legal/regulatory review and FDA submission, key performance indicator measurement strategy, and promotional campaign.
The results
The client piloted a scalable digital platform for healthcare providers nine months after project kickoff. Building upon the initial pilot, the platform’s “product roadmap” included both a national provider release and patient release within the next 18 months.
